Its revenue increased by 169 percent y-o-y to $328.2million for the quarter ending on April 30th, and it has nearly doubled its revenue guidance for the entire year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zoom&#8217;s CEO Eric S Yuan also announced that the company will be <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/security\/2020\/06\/03\/zoom-wont-encrypt-free-calls-because-it-wants-to-comply-with-law-enforcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rolling out end-to-end encryption<\/a>. However, the feature would only be available to paid users, and not for free calls, as it wants to comply with the law enforcement in case people misuse the platform for purposes like repeat offenders for hate speed or content related to child pornography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Related read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/03\/zooms-privacy-premium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zoom faces criticism for denying free users e2e encryption<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/investor.slackhq.com\/news\/news-details\/2020\/Slack-Announces-Record-First-Quarter-Fiscal-Year-2021-Results\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Slack announces record first quarter fiscal year 2021 results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Workplace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/list\/collaboration-software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">collaboration software<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/product\/slack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slack<\/a> also announced its earnings report for Q1 2020, as it witnessed 50 percent bump in revenue to $201.7million. It also announced that it added 12,000 new paid customers in the period. For the full financial year, it&#8217;s expecting its revenue to be between $855million and $870million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/slack-aws-forge-multi-year-partnership-for-cloud-services-product-integration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slack announced a partnership with AWS<\/a>, wherein the cloud giant will be using the software for team communication purposes, whereas the former will use AWS Chime to improve upon its voice and video calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/docusign-posts-strong-q1-enters-remote-work-digital-transformation-winners-circle\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DocuSign posts strong Q1, enters remote work, digital transformation winner&#8217;s circle<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/list\/electronic-signature-software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electronic signature software<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/product\/docusign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Docusign<\/a> ended the Q1 on a strong note as it added 10,000 new direct customers, and 58,000 self-service customers. It has also beaten analyst expectations with a revenue of $281.1million, which has grown 39 percent from a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/04\/vmware-lastline-staff-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>VMware acquires network security firm Lastline, said to lay off 40\\% of staff<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.saasworthy.com\/blogsaas-weekly-roundup-19-google-meet-free-atlassian-vmware-acquisitions-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VMware acquired Octarine<\/a>, and now it&#8217;s loosing its purse strings to buy network security firm Lastline. While the terms of the deal weren&#8217;t disclosed, <em>Techcrunch<\/em> reports that 40\\% of Lastline&#8217;s employees will be laid off post the acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netapp.com\/us\/company\/news\/press-releases\/news-rel-20200603-954373.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NetApp to acquire Spot<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/product\/netapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NetApp<\/a> has announced the acquisition of Israel-based cloud service company, Spot.io. The company offers tools for visibility and automation for cloud services, and has reportedly been acquired for $450million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/01\/salesforce-names-vlocity-founder-david-schmaier-ceo-of-new-salesforce-industries-division\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Salesforce names Vlocity founder David Schmaier CEO of new Salesforce Industries division<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/product\/salesforce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salesforce<\/a> had acquired Vlocity in February this year, and now it has announced that Vlocity&#8217;s CEO David Schmaier would be leading a new division called Salesforce Industries. Chinese e-commerce ERP system developer Jushuitan has announced that it has raised $100million Series C round which was led by Goldman Sachs. The company will be using the money to upgrade and optimize its product, and expand to overseas markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alexkonrad\/2020\/06\/04\/automation-startup-hyperscience-raises-60-million\/#be4d0306c6b4\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>New York startup Hyperscience raises $60 million in bid to become automation software\u2019s next breakout<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Automation isn&#8217;t a new thing, but over the years it has come to a point where we are able to automate a lot of manual tasks. RPA or Robotic Process Automation takes that to a level above, and a company working in this sector has raised a significant amount to establish a lead. Hyperscience has received Series C funding of $60million to grow faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/04\/bryter-raises-16m-for-a-no-code-platform-for-non-technical-people-to-build-enterprise-automation-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Bryter raises $16M for a no-code platform for non-technical people to build enterprise automation apps<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lately, no-code tools has become a hot space. Bryter, a company aiming to help non-tech departments in an enterprise to build apps has announced a Series A funding of $16millin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/01\/bonusly-the-platform-for-employee-recognition-raises-9-million-series-a\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Bonusly, the platform for employee recognition, raises $9 million Series A<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With employees working remotely, recognizing their work is more important than ever. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saasworthy.com\/product\/bonus-ly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bonusly<\/a>, launched in 2013, believes that employee recognition should happen all year around. It has raised $9million Series A funding to expand further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/02\/tictrac-secures-7-5m-to-expand-employee-wellbeing-platform-as-wfh-baloons\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Tictrac secures $7.5M to expand employee wellbeing platform as WFH baloons<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuing the theme of employee welfare, Tictrac has raised $7.5million.
