Gravity is an open-source toolkit designed to create images related to Kubernetes clusters as well as that of the applications running inside those clusters. The software allows its users to pack entire environments as downloadable cluster images and run them on their customer’s infrastructure. It runs on any Linux environment such as the air-gapped, edge nodes, private clouds, bare metal, etc. Gravity allows the customers to install and update the application on any infrastructure with a single command. The software enables its users to take the guesswork out of on-prem deployments as every cluster created with the software is identical. The users can focus on building their products instead of managing Kubernetes. Gravity clusters are wrapped with Teleport, which is a privileged access gateway. It unifies SSH and k8s authentication and even stores detailed audit logs to help users adhere to compliances. Gravity consists of tools that help to perform infrastructure validation before cluster provisioning processes. These enable the cluster designers to prevent their users from installing the unwanted clusters on their infrastructure, which fail to meet system requirements.
